Discover Unique Experiences in the Eastern Cape at Trumpetters Drift
Enrich your stay with our experiences
Bush picnic and bush braai
There’s something about eating outdoors that makes food taste better—and here, it’s even more special. We organise wilderness picnics and bush dinners for guests staying over—or even if you just drop by for the day. It’s not your usual meal under the stars, but a proper safari Eastern Cape dining moment filled with atmosphere and memories that linger.

Bush picnic and bush braai
Our picnics and braais are served after a morning or afternoon game drive, when wildlife is most active. Led by a ranger, you’ll spot zebras, kudu, giraffes and all sorts of birds. And when you stop for lunch in the bush? That’s when the real magic of a safari Eastern Cape experience begins.

Running, walking & mountain biking
Fancy a bit of exercise with a view? Trail running, walking or cycling around Trumpetters Drift Reserve offers a chance to spot wildlife while you move. Whether it’s gentle gravel tracks or more rugged single‑track paths—every ride is part of your Eastern Cape safari adventure.

Bass & deep‑sea fishing
Love fishing? Our dam is home to bass that can reach 6.6 kg (catch & release only—guests recently reeled in a 4.6 kg beauty). If you’re more into saltwater, our sea fishing trips show off the incredible marine life of the Eastern Cape—dolphins, whales (in season), seabirds. Rods and gear are provided by guides.
